How to Create Custom Keyboard Shortcuts in Windows 10

Here is how to create and change windows keyboard shortcuts applicable on Windows 10, 8.1 and 7.

First, create a shortcut to an application, either by dragging anything from the Start menu the desktop or by right-clicking on an executable and choosing to Create shortcut.

  • Now right-click on the Shortcut icon and select properties,
  • Move to Shortcut tab then Click in the Shortcut key box
  • Here under the shortcut key box enter your chosen keystroke combination,
  • For example, Ctrl+Alt+G
  • Here Note: your custom combination has to start with Ctrl+Alt, after which you can add a letter, number, or function key.

  • Press Windows + R, type explorer shell:AppsFolder and ok
  • This will display all available application lists, simply right-click and select Create Shortcut.
  • Now right click on the shortcut icon and select properties,
  • Select the shortcut key box under the shortcut tab
  • Type your keystroke combination example ctrl+Alt + r
  • Click apply and ok to save changes.

  • A tiny symbol is placed at the left corner of the address bar just before the URL is recognized as a favicon.
  • Simply keep hold on the favicon and drop it on the desktop.
